Samantha was born in islamic republic of Iran, but her family moved to Canada when she was two-years-old. Samantha Tajik is fluent in both English and Persian. Tajik grew up in Vancouver Canada, but moved to Toronto to go to school. She competed in the Miss Universe Canada 2008 pageant, and on April 28, 2008 was crowned the winner by outgoing titleholder, Inga Skaya.
She represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in Vietnam in July 2008.
